British entrepreneurs keen on investing in Pakistan

Karachi, September 14, 2011 (PPI): British entrepreneurs are keen on investing in Pakistan as they feel a social responsibility to help this country and also play role in its economic development.

This was stated by visiting Vice Chairman Pakistan Britain Trade Investment Forum, Sir Thomas Harris who is heading 19-member delegation which called on Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan and discussed matters of mutual economic interest. They also met members of Overseas Investment Chambers of Commerce & Industry, explored avenues and potential for developing further business opportunities in Pakistan.

Sir Harris told newsmen on Wednesday that British entrepreneurs were keen to explore investment potential in mining, oil, gas, infrastructure and financial sectors in Pakistan. The delegation members hope to potentially encourage foreign investment into Pakistan, enhance and develop skilled employment opportunities in these sectors. This will help lay the groundwork for strong potential growth in future.

British Deputy High Commissioner & Director for Trade & Investment Pakistan, Francis Campbell said UK government was fully committed to build on bilateral trade relations between UK & Pakistan in various sectors. He hoped delegation’s visit will help to further enhance trade links between two countries.
