Prime Minister Gilani describes his visit to Iran "positive"

Mashad, September 14, 2011 (PPI): Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani described his three-day official visit to Iran as "positive", IRNA news agency reported on Wednesday

Gilani, before leaving for Islamabad Tuesday night in meeting with province Governor General Mahmoud Salahi said in talks with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, First Vice-President Mohammad Reza Rahimi and number of cabinet ministers "good" results were achieved for developing bilateral cooperation.

He called for developing economic, trade cooperation, especially with the province and said in agriculture, industry and creation of infra-structures in Pakistan, his country intends to use experiences of Khorasan Razavi Province. He spoke of good bilateral political relations and said Pakistan consulate will be commissioned soon in Bandar Abbas, capital of southern province of Hormuzgan.

Salahi, for his part, expounded on capabilities of the province and said the province with six million population is an industrial and mine province. In agriculture, he said the province produces more than 10 million tons of agricultural products of many varieties.

Salahi said "we are interested to develop our ties with Pakistan and currently several projects are being executed in Punjab province of Pakistan. We are ready to expand cooperation with other Pakistani provinces, too."
