Kurdish source: Kurdish ministers and MPs meeting expresses dissatisfaction over Maliki’s handling item 140

Erbil (NINA) – The meeting held in Erbil headed by Kurdistan President Masoud Barzani and the Kurdish ministers in the federal governments and the MPs was suspended for an hour.

An acquainted source stated to NINA correspondent “the participants expressed dissatisfaction over Maliki’s and his government handling item 140 of the constitution, which he pledged to implement as soon as he is assigned as Prime Minister.”

The source added that “the meeting criticized passing the Oil and Gas draft law from the government to the parliament despite the Kurdish Alliance’s reservations.”

The source explained “the participants pointed out that the Erbil agreement items were not all implemented. They also tackled the expected visit of the KRG PM to Baghdad and said that the date will be determined in light of the connections with the central government.”

There will be a statement issued by the end of the meeting explaining the important issues discussed and the stances adopted for them, the source said.

Barzani accused Maliki last week of disregarding the political agreements to implement a central system and unilateral decision making, calling for withdrawing the Oil and Gas draft law.

He also called on the Kurdish ministers in the central government and MPs to meet and discuss suspended issues with the central government.
