Thai Cabinet approves 2012 budget of Bht2.33 trillion

BANGKOK, September 13 (TNA) - New Thai Finance Minister Thirachai said on Tuesday that the Cabinet has set the state budget for the 2012 fiscal year, beginning from October 1, 2011, at 2.33 trillion baht, a 7.4 per cent increase from the 2011 state budget, and has set the government's targeted total revenue at 1.98 trillion baht, some 11.9 per cent rise from the 2011 fiscal year.
Thirachai acknowledged that some 384.4 billion baht of the new Pheu Thai government's 2012 budget framework has been earmarked for public investment projects, a 8.1 per cent increase from the 2011 fiscal year, and that the 2012 budget is based on the assumption that the Thai economy will grow by 4.5-5.5 per cent and inflation will rise by 3-4 per cent next year.
