Don Mueang Airport holds terror drill
BANGKOK, September 13 (TNA) - Thailand's Don Mueang Airport is holding a mock security drill as part a bomb threat contingency plan.
Director of Don Mueang Airport Wing Commander Prateep Wichitto said on Tuesday the annual exercise was held with the aim of strengthening the airport’s contingency-response mechanisms.
Prateep also said the drill was held to maintain international safety standards laid down by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which prescribed member airports to conduct a security drill at least once every two years.
This year’s exercise was jointly conducted with the Royal Thai Air Force, Orient Thai Airlines and Don Mueang Metropolitan Police. (TNA)
