Sudanese Official Praises Qatar Role in Resolving Darfur Crisis
Doha , September 12 (QNA) - Chairman of the Sudanese Governmental delegation on the Darfur peace negotiations Amin Hassan Omar praised on Monday the role Qatar has played since the beginning of negotiations noting that Qatar has played a mammoth role for bringing about peace and stability in Darfur.
Speaking to QNA on the margin of the meeting of the Committee for Following up the implementation of the Doha document on peace in Darfur which concluded here earlier yesterday, the Sudanese official said that Qatar has been doing its utmost to ensure the situation improves in Darfur, particularly through encouraging peace negotiations.
In regards to how he viewed yesterday's meeting, Omar said that all parties involved in the meeting stressed on its complete support to the Doha negotiations.
Answering QNA's question on the time frame required to put the Darfur crisis to bed, Omar said that the situation in Darfur is always improving, whether it is the security, political or economic situation. Omar said that once people reap the benefits of the Darfur Peace Document when its carried out, there will no longer be a conflict. (QNA)
