GCC Ministerial Council Wraps Up Meeting in Jeddah

Jeddah, September 11 (QNA) -The  GCC ministerial council  on Sunday praised the efforts of Qatar
as concerning requesting full membership of Palestine at the UN.
 At the end of a meeting in Jeddah the council also lauded the efforts of the  Committee on  the Arab peace initiative at its meetings held in Doha on July 14, and August 23, 2011, aimed to invite UN members to recognize a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders in the West Bank and Gaza Strip with Jerusalem as its capital.
  Meanwhile, the council praised the signing of the Darfur peace agreement in Doha, between the Sudanese government and the  movement of Liberation and Justice as being the result of genuine
efforts made by the State of Qatar led by HH the Emir  Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani to achieve security and stability in Darfur.
    The Ministerial Council expressed its appreciation of  the efforts of the State of Qatar under the auspices of His Highness the Emir to organize the  Pan-Arab Games next December.
It condemned Israel's  violations of the Gaza  Strip and the Egyptian territories, which resulted in numerous deaths and injuries of innocent citizens.
  It also condemned Israel's desecration of worship place and regretted the continuation of the current situation in Syria which took a big toll of civilians. It called for an immediate end to the killing
machine  and removing  military appearance,  for putting an end to bloodshed and embarking on serious reforms fulfilling the Syrian people's  aspiration.
 The council expressed satisfaction with the Libyan people's achievements noting they will be able to plan for the future in a spirit  of  national unity and the rule of law, away from vengeance s and settling of scores. (QNA)
