The parliament denounces the assassination of journalist Hadi Al Mahdi

Baghdad (NINA) – Iraqi Parliament called for “providing anything that could protect the journalists and freedom of expression and demonstrating and to expose the murderers of the journalist and theater director Hadi Al Mahdi and to bring them to courts.”

Media office of the Parliament quoted MP Muayad Al Tayib, member of the Culture and Media Committee, as saying in a statement during today’s session “the committee strongly denounces the assassination of Al Mahdi, the well-known activist in defending constitutional rights, including the rights of demonstrating and providing services to people.”

He added “it really hurts us that Iraq becomes a grave for the free journalists; we have to work on stopping the ongoing assassinations against journalists, the protectors of constitution, integrity, and law within our young democracy that is targeted by the forces of dark.”
