Bangkok's communities developed in honour of Thai King

BANGKOK, September 10 (TNA) - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is refurbishing 840 communities in the Thai capital, aimed at further upgrading living quality of residents, as part of Thailand's grand celebrations nationwide on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej's 84th birthday on December 5, 2011.
BMA Permanent Secretary Charoenrat Chutikan said that the BMA's development of the local communities is based on the sufficiency economy principle advised by His Majesty the King.
Charoenrat said the local communal renewal work, from September to December this year, will cover improvements to community sanitation, garbage and waste water management, road and street lighting maintenance, promotions of green activities, public welfare and public assets protection.
Charoen noted that the BMA's program also covers the provision of health check-ups and the elimination of disease-borne insect breeding grounds. (TNA)
