High Joint Military Committee of GCC Chiefs of Staffs Open its 4th Meeting

Abu Dhabi, September 07 (QNA) -The High Joint Military Committee of the GCC Chiefs of Army Staffs held here on Wednesday its 4th consultative meeting chaired by Lt.Gen. Hamad Mohammad Thani Al Rumaithi of the United Arab Emirates.
HE Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces Maj.Gen. Hamad Bin Ali Al Attiyah , is leading his country's' delegation to the meeting.
Speaking to the meeting, Lt.Gen. Hamad Mohammed Al Rumaithi of the UAE General Staff said 'the events that is passing through the region cast a shadow on our countries, demonstrating our ability to meet the challenges together, promote our cooperation and act in a clear and evident way through the insights of our leaders and your hard works and proper planning.
Lt.Gen. Hamad Mohammed Al Rumaithi pointed out that the meeting comes in implementation of the decision of the Supreme Council for the Cooperation Council at its 31st session, held in Abu Dhabi in 2010, on the development of the Peninsula Shield Forces and the study of the possibility of establishing a joint command to be submitted to the Joint Defense Council and then to the Supreme Council in its next meeting.
The Meeting was also attended by Saudi Chief of General Staff Gen. Hussain Abdullah Al Qubail and Chief of Staffs of other member states as well as Assistant Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) for military Affairs Brig. Gen. Khalifah Humaid Al Kaabi and commander of the Peninsula Shield Force Brig Gen. Mutlaq Salim Al Azaima.(QNA)
