Bomb retrieved in Thai south
NARATHIWAT, September 8 (TNA) - An M-67 grenade was salvaged from a grove wood area in southern Thailand’s Narathiwat province early Wednesday morning.
Bomb experts found the bomb in operational status near the wall of a house on Sai thong road No.4 in Sungai Kolok municipality.
Preliminary findings pointed to a chance of the bomb being hidden by insurgents to avoid a nearby security checkpoint. A civilian report claimed two suspects had been spotted in the area on Tuesday night.
Authorities said they believed the bomb was intended for an attack on a business district in Sungai Kolok municipality. (TNA)
