VISITS DURING FESTIVALS ENHANCE UNDERSTANDING, SAYS SHAFIE
SEMPORNA, Sept 22 (Bernama)-- Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage Minister Mohd Shafie Apdal Monday advised the people to continue with their practice of calling on fellow Malaysians during festivals, saying it would help enhance inter-racial and inter-religious understanding and strengthen unity.
"We are all Malaysians, regardless of whether we are in Peninsular
Malaysia, Sabah or Sarawak (East Malaysia on Borneo island). We have to remain
united," he said at the presentation of aid to the poor here.
He also asked the people to ome up with new approaches to enhancing unity
in the country and to avoid raising sensitive racial and religious issues as
these could hurt the feelings of fellow Malaysians.
