Mottaki says Iran keen on expanding ties with Algeria

New York, Sept 21, IRNA - Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said here on Saturday that Iranian and Algerian leaders are determined to further boost all-out bilateral ties.

He made the remarks in a meeting with his Algerian counterpart Mourad
Medelci on the sidelines of the annual UN General Assembly which is to
begin on Tuesday.

The Iranian foreign minister reiterated that a new chapter has opened
in Tehran-Algiers amicable ties.

He called for continued consultations to help settle the current
problems facing the Muslim states.

Underlining the need for utilization of Iran's valuable experiences in
the area of energy, the Algerian foreign minister called for making
better use of the existing potentials in the two countries to bolster
bilateral relations between the two Muslim nations.

Reviewing the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian
territories, the two foreign ministers underscored the need for
support of the oppressed Palestinian nation vis-a-vis brutality of the
Zionist regime.
