THREE CHINA AIRLINES VICTIMS STILL IN INTENSIVE CARE IN SANGLAH
Denpasar, Sept 21 (ANTARA) - Three of the nine injured victims of China Airlines are still in intensive care at Sanglah Central Hospital in Denpasar.
One of them has to go through intensive observation in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) while the two others had already been transferred to a room in the International Wing.
"The three patients of nine suffered serious injuries," an official of the Emergency Ward said.
The three are Huang Yung Te (61) with broken hand, Huang Hui Chin (32) with broken backbone, chest and waist bones, and also Chang Yung An (28), female, who suffered from deep shock.
The other six injured victims are brought home by the tourism agent who took to Bali.
Some 27 of the total of 338 people, including passengers and flight crew, on board the China Airlines Boeing 747-400 were injured when the airliner hit turbulence over the Makassar strait Saturday afternoon en route to Denpasar from Taiwan when it entered a pocket of severe atmospheric instability.
But the pilot managed to navigate the plane out of the difficult air currents and landed the plane safely at Bali's Ngurah Rai international airport.
In the meantime, Director of Services at the Sanglah Hospital Dr. I Wayan Sutarga admitted here Sunday the hospital is still taking care of three seriously injured victims.
"The nine victims received treatment. However, the other six are not seriously injured so we recommend them undergo a check-up," Sutarga said.
Of the nine injured victimes, one is a Chinese and the rest Taiwanese.
