Iranian company to be noticed over delay in project implementation

SANA'A, Sep 21 (Saba) - The General Electricity Corporation is due
to send a notice to the Iranian Persian Company over the delay in
implementing transformation stations affiliated with Marib Gas
Station Project and producing the main transformer of the station.

The state-run 26sep.net quoted a source at the corporation as saying
the corporation intends to end the contract with the company and
that a delegation from the corporation will head during the next two
days for Iran's capital Tehran to convey the message to the company.

The source said the corporation ,hence, will be compelled to buy a
transformer in case the Iranian company has not manufactured it yet.
The source said the move would necessarily be taken as 90% of the
transformation station has been completed.

The delegation will include a parliament member, the deputy director
of the corporation and a specialist engineer in the generating
stations and they will make sure that the company has prepared the
transformer and familiarize themselves with the timetable of
importing it and installing it at the project.

The Iranian company, which last year won a tender to implement the
transformation station at $ 49 million, has only completed 25% of
the project. It received $ 12 million and the rest of the sum
remains at the hands of the corporation until the project is
finalized.

Last week, the government instructed the corporation to identify a
timetable to finish the project and operate it as soon as possible.
