People in many Thai provinces still suffer from floods

BANGKOK, September 5 (TNA) - People in Thailand’s northern, central, and northeastern regions still suffer from floods.

In Ayutthaya Province, the Chao Phraya River rose by at least 12 centimeters on Monday, flooding into the Muang Sena municipality and submerging local roads.

Severe flooding also continued to occupy four districts of Phitsanulok Province. Floodwaters from the Phetchabun mountain range had overflowed into Bang Krathum District, damaging paddies, and banana and sugarcane plantations, as well as pig farms.

In Ubon Ratchathani Province, rising waters in the Moon River increased by 2-3 centimeters on Monday due to persistent rains in the Northeast. An overflowing river nearby had inundated low-lying areas in Muang and Warin Chamrab Districts, forcing over 100 families to evacuate their homes.

In Samut Songkhram Province, two more bodies had been retrieved by rescuers in the sea off the Don Hoi Lod area, pushing the number of tourist fatalities to three since Sunday. (TNA)
