Libya's NTC Denies Seeking Ties With Israel

Doha, September 03 (QNA) - Vice President of Libya's National Transitional Council (NTC) Abdul Hafeez Goukh on Saturday denied existence or intention to establish relations with Israel.
Israel Defense Forces Radio has recently quoted Ahmad Al-Shaibani, described as a senior member of the Libyan rebel council, as saying that "Israel has an international role", expressing hope that "Israel can collect the power it has in the international sphere to help the Council's goals."
Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Goukh said " Ahmad Al-Shaibani does not exist at all... there's no-one of that name in the Libyan Transitional Council."
"These are fabricated accusations by Israel aimed at causing confusion and controversy on the Libyan revolution and the NTC," he explained.
For his part, Ahmed al-Zubayr al-Sanusi a Libya's NTC member told QNA " We are not preoccupied to establish relationship with Israel...our main goal is to secure Libya first, then consolidate our ties with Arab and Islamic countries before openness toward the international community."
