VISIT OF FINNISH PRESIDENT ENDS
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A state visit of Mrs. Tarja Halonen, the President of the Republic of Finland paid to Mongolia has been successfully finished. In frames of the visit, Mrs. Halonen has held a meeting her counterpart of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj to share issues on the bilateral relations and cooperation. She has appreciated an initiative of the Mongolian President on developing active cooperation at international arena in strengthening the democracy.
Moreover, the two Presidents have held expanded talks and reached agreements on some matters to widen the bilateral relations. Afterwards, Mrs. Halonen received D.Demberel, the Parliament Speaker; S.Batbold, the Prime Minister; and J.Byambadorj, head of the National Commission for Human Rights, and then attended the Mongolia-Finland business forum as well as an opening of a laboratory center co-established by the Central Geological Laboratory and the Finnish Geological Service.
Ending the visit, Mrs. Halonen ans her spouse Pentti Arajärvi watched a small games of Mongolian traditional sports including wrestling, archery and horse-race.
Mrs. Halonen has expressed her thanks to Mongolian people for a warm audience, and promised to make efforts to expand the Mongolia-Finland cooperation.
