Thailand, Cambodia jointly launch environmental project

SA KAEO, September 2 (TNA) - Thai and Cambodian authorities have launched a joint project on environmental conservation at a border checkpoint in Thailand's eastern Sa Kaeo Province.

Sa Kaeo Governor Sanit Naksuksri and Commander of Thailand's Burapa Task Force Major General Pisit Sithisarn joined the governor of the Cambodian Banteay Meanchey Province in inaugurating the project at the Baan Klong Luek-Poi Pet Permanent Border Checkpoint and Rong Kluea Market in Sa Kaeo on Friday.

A joint Thai-Cambodian caravan was also released to clean up the Rong Kluea Market, as part of the two neighbouring nations' joint activities to ensure social order for the Thai-Cambodian border trade and to promote bilateral relations, as well as to honour and to pay tribute to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on the auspicious occasion of the beloved Thai monarch's 84th birthday on December 5, 2011.
