HH the Emir Participates in Conference for Supporting New Libya

Paris, September 01 (QNA) - HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani participated Wednesday evening in the conference for supporting new Libya that was held at Elysee Palace in Paris. (MORE)
HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani in a speech he delivered in the Conference stressed that the transformation that took place and is happening in Libya was an expression of the will of the Libyan people.
His Highness added that this transformation was difficult, pointing out that the Libyan citizens who marched in peaceful demonstrations were met with weapons and even sometimes with heavy weapons, and that is why were forced defend themselves.
HH the Emir said we all (Arabs and international community) found ourselves at the crossroads about what is happening, and about what should be done. Shall we let them be killed or shall we assume our responsibility as Arabs and the international community? "We have taken our decision to give them protection and we understand the great the responsibility we have," HH the Emir said. His Highness pointed out that these measures that had been taken were not a substitute for the efforts of the Libyan people and their aim was to protect them. (QNA)
