MCOT awarded top Thai enterprise development award

BANGKOK, September 1 (TNA) - MCOT Public Company Limited (MCOT), Thailand’s listed broadcaster and operator of Modernine TV Channel, Modern Radio Networks and Thai News Agency (TNA), has received a top state enterprise development award from the Thai Ministry of Finance.
The award was presented by new Thai Finance Minister Thirachai Phuvanatnaranubala on Wednesday at an annual awards-presenting ceremony for the country's best state enterprises held in Muang Thong Thani on the outskirts of Bangkok.
The annual awards have been presented to Thai state enterprises recognized for their excellence in eight different categories, including best state-owned enterprises, top leadership, top development, best boards and best social responsibility.
MCOT board Chairman Surapon Nitikraipot, who received the honourable prize on the behalf of the company's executives and staff members, said that the award will boost motivations for all MCOT personnel to continue developing quality programs for the public, noting that the company is looking forward to winning other prestige awards in the coming years.
Other state enterprises bestowed the Thai Ministry of Finance's annual awards include PTT Public Company Limited (PTT), Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI), Government Savings Bank (GSB), Krung Thai Bank Public Company Limited, the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority of Thailand (MWAT), the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) and the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA).
