Hari Raya festival sparks travelling in Thailand’s Hat Yai District
SONGKHLA, August 31 (TNA) - Tourism is booming in southern Thailand’s Hat Yai District, thanks to the Islam festival ‘Hari Raya’.
The major business district in the heart of Songkhla Province has remained lively as celebrations continued on its second day, which coincides with the national day of Malaysia.
Local shops described the sales of food, souvenirs and clothes like “hot cakes” as tens of thousands of tourists, including from Malaysia, ventured to make purchases.
Hotels have also reported a rise in advanced room bookings for the annual Vegetarian and Loy Krathong festivals, as well as the New Year break.
Meanwhile, authorities have implemented tight security measures throughout the district to ensure tourist confidence. (TNA)
