S. Korea's industrial output grows 3.8 pct in July
SEOUL, Aug. 31 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's industrial output grew for the 25th straight month in July thanks to high demand for semiconductors and automobiles from home and abroad, a government report showed Wednesday.
According to the report by Statistics Korea, production in the mining and manufacturing industries expanded 3.8 percent last month from a year earlier. The July figure marked straight output growth from July 2009 onward.
The on-year gain, however, slowed from the previous month's revised 6.5 percent growth. Output also declined 0.4 percent compared with a month earlier, the report showed.
