Thai gold price inches up 550 baht
BANGKOK, August 31 (TNA) - The gold price in Thailand rose again by 550 baht per baht-weight on Wednesday.
The Gold Traders Association reported as of 9:27 a.m. that the selling price for gold bars reached 26,050 baht per baht-weight, and for gold ornaments 26,450 baht per baht-weight.
President of the Association Jitti Tangsitthipakdi said the gold price was adjusted in line with the world gold price, which climbed to 1,830 US dollars per ounce.
Jitti noted that the gold price had frequently fluctuated at some 40-50 US dollars per ounce or 500-600 baht per day. He advised investors to remain abreast in their trade, saying in the near future the gold price could return to its high at 1,910 US dollars an ounce or 26,000 baht per baht-weight for gold bars.
Meanwhile, trading at gold shops in Bangkok’s Chinatown area had been normal, without people forming long lines as recently. (TNA)
