CONSULAR CONSULTATIVE MEETING HELD
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ Mongolia and China shared views on urgent problems faced to their consular relations, for instance, protection of legal interests of citizens and entities, strengthening the consular representation and inter-citizenship travel, at the 13th consultative meeting of the Consuls at the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the countries held on August 29-31 in Ulaanbaatar. The meeting has been co-chaired by D.Gankhuyag, the director of Consular Department of the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and by Huang Ping, the head of the Consular Department of China.
The Mongolian side reported that Mongolia will officially open its consulate in September of this year in Shanghai, China and will celebrate the 15th anniversary of Mongolian consulate in Erlian city. The consul of Mongolia to Erlian S.Batkhuyag has invited administrative officials of the Consular Department of the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Mongolia backed in principle a proposal of the Chinese side on operating a permanent phone contact between the Consular Departments of the countries' Foreign Ministries in case of violation of legal interests of people and entities. The Mongolian side decided to convey a proposal of the Chinese side to related bodies of Mongolia to develop cooperation in improving capacity of passing freight and passengers through the border checkpoints of Zamyn-Uud and Erlian.
The Chinese side considered as necessity to establish consular representations of Mongolia in Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China (PRC); in East Ujimqin Banner of Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region; and in Hailar District of Holonbuir, in accordance with a proposal of Mongolia.
