HEAD OF AZERBAIJAN CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETS CHAIRWOMAN OF LITHUANIA`S CHIEF

Baku, 20 September,(AzerTAj)Chairman of the Civil Service Commission under the
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Bahram Khalilov has met with visiting
Chairwoman of Lithuania`s Chief Official Ethics Commission Jolanta Petkeviciene.
Mr. Khalilov told of reforms carried out in civil service in Azerbaijan, activities
of the Civil Service Commission and other issues.
Ms. Petkeviciene praised Azerbaijan`s dynamic economic development and reforms
carried out in the country.
According to her, admission to the civil service through contest will contribute to
promoting democracy in Azerbaijan.
She also briefed B. Khalilov on his country`s experience and reforms in civil service.
The sides stressed the importance of organizing training courses and reciprocal
visits to study both countries` civil service experiences.
The meeting also discussed prospects for cooperation and other issues of mutual
interest.

The same day, Ms. Petkeviciene and her accompanying delegation met with Head of
President Office`s Department, member of the Civil Service Management Council
Suleyman Ismayilov and Secretary of the Commission on Combating Corruption of
Azerbaijan Inam Karimov.
