Pakistan not tolerate violations of its sovereignty by ``any power''
Islamabad, Sept 20 PPI: Pakistan will not tolerate violations of its sovereignty by
"any power" in the name of fighting terror, President Asif Ali Zardari warned on
Saturday.
Addressing joint session of parliament (Senate & National Assembly) at parliament
house here for the first time after being elected as President early this month, he
said terrorism was ``a grave challenge to the country. The government should resolve
firmly not to allow Pakistani soil to be used in carrying out terrorist activities
against other countries.''
President Zardari promised to respect the supremacy of parliament and asked for an
all-parties committee to re-examine constitutional changes under former President
Pervez Musharraf that gave the President power to dissolve parliament. Zardari
called such powers "distortions."
