T.GANDI MEETS CANADIAN MINISTER

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Minister of Social Welfare and Labor T.Gandi met Friday, August 26 a delegation headed by Mrs. Bev Oda, Canadian Minister for International Cooperation.
At the beginning of the meeting, T.Gandi mentioned Mongolia widely cooperates with Canada in the fields of exploration of mineral resources and mining industry, and then noted the bilateral cooperation has been widening. She underlined an importance to expand the collaboration in the social welfare sector, connecting it with the above spheres. "The Mongolian Ministry of Social Welfare and Labor is co-implementing a training program with some entities to prepare specialized workers for the road, construction and mining sectors. It is needed to make this program more effective. Thus, we want to develop collaboration with the Canadian Ministry of International Cooperation in introducing Canadian experiences and standards in training specialists and engineers for the mining sector," T.Gandi stressed.
Expressing her satisfaction with visiting Mongolia, Mrs. Oda expressed a willingness to widen the bilateral relations and to cooperate with Mongolia in preparing specialists and in improving labor safety and sanitation. She also invited delegates of the Mongolian Ministry to visit Canada for studying experiences in specific matters.
