Thai FM to visit ASEAN neighbours

BANGKOK, August 26 (TNA) - Newly-appointed Thai Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul said on Friday that he will be visiting neighbouring member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in the alphabetical order, soon after the new Puea Thai Party-led government presented its policy statement to the Parliament this week.

The new Thai foreign minister told reporters that he will first pay an official visit to Brunei, followed by Indonesia.

However, schedules of the new Thai foreign minister's visits to the ASEAN neighbours have not yet been publicly announced.

ASEAN groups Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. (TNA)
