PURNOMO: DON'T DISTURB PERTAMINA ALLOWING IT TO DEVELOP INTO WORLD CLASS ENTERPRISE
Jakarta, Sept 19 (ANTARA) - Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro called on all relevant sides not to unnessarily intervene in the operations of state oil and gas company Pertamina to enable it develop into a world class corporation.
"Don't intervene in Pertamina's efforts to develop into a world class enterprise," he said when speaking on Law and national oil policy organized by Antara News Agency here on Friday.
According to him, after the introduction of the oil and gas Law No 22/2001, Pertamina has become a pure company, so that it is not to be disturbed, to enable it to develop into a world class enterprise.
He further said that following the issuance of the oil and gas law, Pertamina has two orientations. With regard to its subsidized fuel it is oriented to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, and as a profit-making enterprise, it is oriented to the state enterprises ministry.
"If nobody disturbs Pertamina, this state oil/gas company will be able to reach its projected income of Rp30 trillion and to emulate other oil companies," he said.
