Iraq provides humanitarian aid to the Somali people
Baghdad (NINA) – Cabinet decided today “providing humanitarian donations to the Somali people to counter the drought and famine in the Horn of Africa region.”
A statement issued by the Minister of Foreign Affairs said “the decision was adopted out of the humanitarian obligations and solidarity, especially that we are in the Holy Month of Ramadan.”
The statement pointed out that “22.500 thousand tons of wheat plus $5million will be paid to support the Somali government.”
