New Thai PM prays for luck in national administration

BANGKOK, August 25 (TNA) - Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and cabinet members attended a Buddhist prayer ceremony on Thursday morning to pray for good luck before officially starting national administration.
The ceremony took place at 10 a.m., during which 99 Buddhist monks offered blessings for Yingluck and her cabinet.
In the afternoon, Yingluck was due to attend the third day of parliamentary policy debating, after the House speaker adjourned Wednesday’s session due to lack of quorum.
Yingluck was also expected to convene with her cabinet at parliament right after the policy debate concluded. In addition, she would begin riding in the premier’s official bullet-proof limousine, with its plate number reading Sor Hor 3834 Bangkok. The vehicle was once used by her predecessor Abhisit Vejjajiva.
In another development, farmers were rallying near Government House, calling on the Thai premier to set up rehabilitation funds to ease farmers’ debts, and to address their debt problems as a national agenda. (TNA)
