Defense minister visits chief privy counselor on his 92nd birthday
BANGKOK, August 25 (TNA) - Defense Minister General Yutthasak Sasiprapa led armed forces chiefs to pay reverence to General Prem Tinasulanonda, chief privy counselor and statesman, on the occasion of his upcoming 92nd birthday anniversary on August 26th.
Accompanying General Yutthasak to the stateman’s Si Sao Deves residence on Thursday morning were Armed Forces Chief General Songkitti Jaggabatra, Army Chief General Prayuth Chan-ocha, Navy Chief Admiral Kamthorn Pumhirun, Air Chief Marshall Itthiporn Supawong, along with other senior officials from the three branches of the armed forces.
General Yutthasak told reporters after the meeting, quoting General Prem’s birthday message urging Thai soldiers to deputise every effort to uphold and safeguard the royal institution, so that Their Majesties King and Queen may reign in happiness.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense and members of the royal armed forces would convene on their first Defense Council meeting in the afternoon. (TNA)
