Vietnam Economic Forum seeks ways to sustain growth
Hanoi (VNA) - The second Vietnam Economic Forum (VEF) opened in Hanoi on Sept. 19, focusing on the nation's sustainable economic growth.
The two-day forum, organised by the Ministry of Planning and Investment in
coordination with the Vietnam News Agency and the Asia News Network (ANN),
saw the gathering of 500 delegates from home and abroad to discuss ways
ahead for the nation's economy.
Addressing the forum, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung expressed
hope that the event would offer the best solutions to sustain and boost
economic growth in the region in general and Vietnam in particular.
The Deputy PM pledged to facilitate both foreign and domestic investment
and wished for a closer cooperation in implementing solutions to overcome
difficulties and develop Vietnam 's economy.
He also expressed hope that Vietnam 's experiences, especially in
poverty alleviation, would be useful for countries in the region and around
the world.
The Editor-in-Chief of Banglandesh's Daily Star, member of the ANN
Executive Board, Mahfuz Anama, and Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Planning
and Investment Nguyen Bich Dat delivered speeches that shared a common idea
of exchanging experiences and overcoming turmoil together to maintain
economic growth in Vietnam, Asia and the rest of the world.
The forum, with the theme of "Sustaining the Growth", will hear reports
made by leaders, policymakers, financial experts, and business
representatives focusing on financial solutions for development, human
resources and infrastructure development.-Enditem
