Thailand's gold prices plunge over Bt1,000
BANGKOK, August 25 (TNA) - Thailand's Gold Traders Association reported that gold prices on the domestic market plunged over 1,000 baht per baht-weight in Thursday’s trading session, in line with those on overseas markets.
The Gold Traders Association said that the gold prices plummeted 1,100 baht per baht-weight immediately after the domestic market opened on Thursday, to 25,150 baht per baht-weight for gold bars and 25,550 baht per baht-weight for gold ornaments respectively.
According to the Gold Traders Association, Thailand's gold prices have been moving in line with those on the world market, where gold prices fell over 100 U.S. dollars per ounce overnight, a heaviest one-day plunge, due to massive sell-offs of international gold funds for profit taking and for reducing investment risks.
