VICE SPEAKER RECEIVES DELEGATIONS FROM JAPAN AND S.KOREA


Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ On Tuesday, August 23, a Vice Speaker G.Batkhuu received a delegation led by Takabe Tsutomu, a member of the House of Representatives of Japanese Parliament and head of the Japan-Mongolia friendship group at the Liberal Democratic Party.
Beginning the meeting, Mr. Tsutomu reported that Japan plans to invite the Parliament Speaker of Mongolia to visit his country in conjunction with the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Mongolia-Japan diplomatic relations. He underlined the bilateral relations and cooperation have been widening last years, and it is being brought into a strategic partnership from the comprehensive partnership relations. “One of the steps of the widening relations and cooperation is related to the project of Tavantolgoi coal mine,” Mr. Tsutomu added.
G.Batkhuu pointed out an achievement of the bilateral comprehensive relations are determined by the strategic partnership, and added it is possible to expand the collaboration in processing minerals and raw materials.

The same day, the Vice Speaker met Cho Yang Ho, the chairman of the Hanjin Group of the Republic of Korea; Chi Chang Hong, the president of the Hanjin Group; and other delegates. These officials accompanied the South Korean President during the state visit to Mongolia.
The sides shared views on developing the bilateral collaboration in the civil air traffic sector because the Korean Air company is belonged to the Hanjin Group.
Mr. Cho said the Hanjin Group is ready to cooperate with Mongolia developing the Mongolian Airlines (MIAT) based on the collaboration between the Korean and the MIAT, aiming to update management of the Mongolian Airlines. He hoped the collaboration between the air line companies would develop at a new level.
In response, G.Batkhuu mentioned that Mongolia is implementing a policy to accelerate development of the civil aviation in Mongolia, and mentioned about a project co-implemented with Japan to construct a new international airport.
