S.BATBOLD RECEIVED BY S.KOREAN PRESIDENT
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ On Tuesday, August 23, the President of the Republic of Korea Lee Myung-bak received the Prime Minister S.Batbold, in the Government House.
The Prime Minister underlined that the countries have agreed to bring the bilateral relations into a level of Comprehensive Partnership within the state visit of the South Korean President, and then noted the Middle-term Program on the Mongolia-Korea cooperation which determines the mutual priorities has been established.
“The government and people of the Republic of Korea have been supporting the democracy of Mongolia, and helped Mongolia to overcome difficulties in times of transmitting into the market economy system. I expressed my thanks to the Republic of Korea for providing thousands of Mongolians living in your country with living conditions and with opportunity of educating,” S.Batbold stressed, and hoped the South Korea will continue paying attention to this matter.
The Premier expressed a willingness to cooperate with the Republic of Korea in realzing a joint project on erecting a coal processing factory based on the Baganuur mine in order to reduce air pollution in UB city. Mentioning Mongolia aims to manufacture value-added products with exploitation of mineral deposits, the Premier said Mongolia wants to cooperate with the South Korea in erecting factories of liquid fuel and processing copper. S.Batbold also highlighted that Korean enterprisers have an opportunity to cooperate with Mongolia to build constructions for a new industrial zone and to construct the industrial complex in Dornogobi province.
With an aim to study the Korean experiences on local development policy and administrative system, the Premier wants to enroll soums' governors in training of the South Korean Local Government Officials Development Institute, and requested Mr. Lee Myung-bak to support it.
S.Batbold congratulated the Republic of Korea for being awarded with the right to host the Winter Olympic Games of 2018.
In his turn, Mr. Lee highlighted the official visit of the Mongolian Prime Minister paid to the South Korea in March of this year has contributed to upgrading the bilateral relations into a new level. “Our country really appreciates development and progress of Mongolia. I hope the cabinet chaired by S.Batbold will exploit well a great chance to intensively develop Mongolia in a short time,” Mr. Lee said. He expressed a willingness to cooperate with Mongolia in exploiting mineral deposits.
During the meeting, the sides shared views on the influence of the financial and economic difficulties faced to the USA to the world economy, especially to the capital market of the Republic of Korea, China and Japan.
