STATE HEADS GIVE REPORT

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj and the President of the Republic of Korea Lee Myung-bak announced on Monday, August 22, that the bilateral relations have entered a new lavel, at a press conference.
The President Ts. Elbegdorj informed that the visit of the President of the Republic of Korea would be a historic one that will upgrade the bilateral relations to a new level. He has mentioned about the official talks held between the countries. "In a warm and businesslike atmosphere we exchanged views and opinions on wide scope of issues regarding the development of bilateral ties and cooperation on regional and international arenas, and we reached a common understanding on many matters. During the talks we reaffirmed our satisfaction on the expansion of bilateral ties in political, economic, trade, cultural, educational, and humanitarian fields and the development of the cooperation of the two countries on regional and international arenas. We agreed to deepen our bilateral ties and cooperation in all sectors further and to develop them at the principle of Comprehensive Partnership," Ts.Elbegdorj stressed. The bilateral political relations have been constantly developing, the frequency of high level visits has been kept, he added.
The two Presidents accorded that it is necessary to establish a consultative mechanism between the two governments to provide united coordination of further cooperation. "Our countries respect common values of democracy and market economy. Mongolia has the honorable duty to chair the Community of Democracies in 2011-2013. Thus we accorded to cooperate with the Republic of Korea which has the common values and interests with us to strengthening democracy and start the Asian Partnership Initiative for Democracy in cooperation with the Republic of Korea," the Presidents said.
The State Heads noted that the bilateral collaboration in the humanitarian sector is intensively developing, and said the sides agreed to implement joint program to lessen burdens of the requirements to visit each other's countries.
The Government of the Republic of Korea decided to render a low interest loan of USD 300 million to Mongolia for supporting the economic growth and human development of Mongolia, and the countries agreed on principle to implement a project to build National Medical Diagnosis and Treatment Center within the framework of the loan. The dignitaries underlined their initiatives and proposals are similar on supporting eco-friendly green production and alleviating negative effects of climate change, and they agreed to cooperate in these directions.
Mr. Lee expressed his appreciation to the President of Mongolia, the First Lady of Mongolia and the people of Mongolia and conveyed sincere greetings of the people of the Republic of Korea. "I made one-on-one meeting and held extended talks with His Excellency Mr.Ts. Elbegdorj and we discussed about extending bilateral relations. Mongolia has abundant natural resources by which the country will be ranked within the first ten in the world. There is wide avenue for us to cooperate in the fields of infrastructure and technology within the framework of entering the wealth into economic turnover.
Your people have the proud history of transforming the country towards democracy in a peaceful way. I think that chairing the Community of Democracies is important for Mongolia to strengthening democracy and ensuring sustainability of democracy. As a result of the leadership of the President of Mongolia and the hard work of the people of your country, you have kept the economic growth and I am confident that you will reach your goal fast in future," Mr. Lee said.
The sides considered that on account of the high level meeting the bilateral relations are going to be developed at the level of comprehensive partnership. "We discussed in detail about developing relations and cooperation in mineral resources, energy, health, and humanitarian sectors. Moreover, we are going to cooperate in introducing technology and training personnel," the sides noted.
The Presidents accorded to cooperate in increasing number of citizens to visit each other's countries, raising air transportation frequencies, and in lessen the conditions of visa issuance. In addition to it, they noted an importance of Asia regional cooperation, and then expressed full support for Mongolia which is chairing the Community of Democracies (CD) and the initiatives of the President of Mongolia.
