AFL tribunal suspends Essendon's Hocking

Essendon midfielder Heath Hocking will miss Sunday's must-win AFL game against Port Adelaide after the tribunal upheld his rough conduct charge.
Hocking was booked on video evidence for his sling tackle on West Coast opponent Daniel Kerr.
It is another controversial suspension stemming from the league's determination to crack down on dangerous tackles.
The Essendon onballer would have received a one-game ban if he had accepted the early plea, so there was no risk in contesting the charge.
Kerr's head hit the ground in the tackle, but Hocking did not pin his arms and the Bombers argued that the incident was not unreasonable.
But the jury took less than five minutes to rule against him.
