STATE VISIT OF SOUTH KOREAN PRESIDENT STARTS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A state visit of the President of the Republic of Korea Lee Myung-bak and his spouse Mrs. Kim Yoon-ok started on Monday, August 22 to Mongolia. The State Head of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj and his spouse Kh.Bolrmaa have welcomed their counterparts on the Sukhbaatar Square.
During the welcoming ceremony, the national anthems of the countries were played. Present at this ceremony were G.Zandanshatar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia; D.Gerel, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Korea; D.Battulga, head of the Presidential Office; Kh.Battulga MP, the Minister of Road, Transportation, Construction and Urban Development; D.Zorigt MP, the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy; E.Monkh-Ochir, head of the Mongolia-Korea parliamentary group; G.Monkhbayar, the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar; Ts.Enkhtuvshin, the Secretary of the National Security Council (NSC); L.Purevsuren, the advisor to the President on foreign policy; B.Ganbold, director of the Department of Asia of the Foreign Ministry; Kim Sung-hwan, the Minister of External Relations and Trade of the Republic of Korea; Choi Jung-Kyung, the Minister of Knowledge Economy; Chin Soo Hee, the Minister of Health and Welfare; Jong IL, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Mongolia; Chong Yong U, a senior advisor to the President on foreign relations and security; and other officials.
The dignitaries paid tribute to the monument of Chingis Khaan after the ceremony. Then the President Lee Myung-bak left his signature on the book of honored guests.
