Peshmerga criticizes central government’s stance regarding Turkish bombing of Kurdistan region’s border villages

Erbil (NINA) – Spokesman for the Peshmerga forces, Jabbar Yawar, criticized the central government’s stance with regards to Iranian and Turkish bombing of border villages.
In a statement on Sunday, Aug. 21, to NINA, Yawar said, “The stance of the region’s government is clear toward solving the problems through dialogue and negotiations to reach a solution acceptable to all.”
He pointed out that the central government’s move is not sufficient. Pointing out, “The region’s government is not part of the struggle which is between armed organizations and the governments of neighboring countries.”
He pointed out that the problem is political and peaceful means are the only way to solve it, pointing out, “The region’s government is ready, if asked, to initiate dialogue toward solving current problems.”
In recent days, Turkish war planes and artillery bombed over 120 sites in Kurdistan region, claiming that it pursues elements of the opposition Kurdish Labor Party (PKK) in response to recent days killing a number of Turkish soldiers near Iraqi borders by PKK fighters.
And Iranian artillery continue bombing Kurdistan region’s border areas, claiming that it is in pursue of elements of the Iranian Kurdish opposition PJAK party using territories in Kurdistan region as launching point in attacks against Iranian territories.
