Qatar Exchange Up 1% Last Week


Doha, August 21 (QNA) - The index of the Qatar Exchange gained 83.27 points, or 1.03%, during last week, to close at 8,190.74 points.
Trading value during the previous week decreased by 46.60% to reach QR 1,116,101,323.46 compared to QR 2,090,036,648.08. Trading volume decreased by 47.49% to reach 25,878,757 shares, as against 49,284,328 shares, while the number of transactions fell by 35.08%, to reach 19,322 transactions as compared to 29,764 transactions.
Market capitalization rose by 0.91% to reach QR435,059,657,905.75 as compared to QR 431,118,702,567.45 at the end of a week before.
The Banking & Financial sector led trading value during the previous week, accounting for 37.93% of the total trading value, followed by Services sector, which accounted for 35.58%.
The Industrial sector ranked third, accounting for 25.21%, and finally followed by Insurance sector, which accounted for 1.28%.
The Services sector led trading volume during the previous week , accounting for 54.01% of the total trading volume, followed by Banking & Financial sector, which accounted for 32.38%.
The Industrial sector ranked third, accounting for 12.78%, and finally followed by Insurance sector, which accounted for 0.84%.
The Services sector led trading number of transactions during the previous week, accounting for 47.8% of the total number of transactions, followed by Banking & Financial sector, which accounted for 34.89%.
The Industrial sector ranked third, accounting for 15.68%, and finally followed by Insurance sector, which accounted for 1.63%.29 companies of the 42 listed companies ended this week higher, while 13 fell .
The Industries Qatar led trading value during the previous week, accounting for 22.68% of the total trading value, followed by QNB which accounted for 9.89%. The Barwa Real Estate ranked third, accounting for 9.55%. (QNA)
