Daini calls on the Kurdish leadership to send the Peshmirga to protect the region’s borders, instead of sending them to Diyala

Baquba (NINA) – MP from the Iraqiya Slate, Nahida Al Daini, demanded Kurdistan to withdraw the Peshmirga from the disputed areas in Diyala.

She told NINA correspondent today that “the policy adopted by the Kurdish leadership in the disputed areas is similar to the policy adopted in Kirkuk, which aims at achieving political goals and to join these areas to the region, a matter that violates article 140 of the constitution.”

She added “the armed groups do not target on component of the people of Jalawla, but, all the people of the city. This is only an excuse the Kurdish leaders use to achieve other goals.”

She explained that “80% of Jalawla and Saadiya population are Arab,” referring that more than 5.000 Arab families were displaced from Khanaqeen.

She demanded the Kurdish authorities to stop sending Kurdish forces to Diyala and send them instead to protect the region’s borders that are being bombed by Iran and Turkey every day, claiming the lives of tens of Kurds. /End/
