PREPARATION OF CEDAR-NUTS BANNED

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A governmental resolution was issued on Wednesday, August 18 to ban preparation of cedar-nut for production use, selling it at the market and the transportation from August 20. The ban will be effective in force for two years.
The Minister of Environment and Tourism L.Gansukh; and the Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry T.Badamjunai were ordered to approve a measure plan within fourth quarter of 2011, focusing on conducting a preliminary valuation over crop of cedar-nuts, defining a policy on the protection and rehabilitation, creating reserved areas for preparation of the nuts and refining upon technologies of the production. A necessary financing for the measure will be placed in the annual budget for socio-economic development.
