SIC LINE UP OFF TRACK ACTIVITIES TO DRAW 70,000 FANS FOR MOTOGP
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 19 (Bernama) -- The Sepang International Circuit (SIC)
has lined up numerous off-track activities in a bid to draw the targetted 70,000
spectators for the 2008 Polini Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix to be held at the
Sepang Circuit from Oct 17-19.
"A world renowned stunt master Humberto Ribeiro performing his stunts at
the
Mall Area of the Main Grandstand during the event to entertain the crowd is
among events lined up," said SIC Sales Manager Ismadi Ishak.
There would also be a display of racing bikes and sales of motor racing
accessories at the Mall Area, he said in a statement Friday.
Sepang will host the penultimate round of the 2008 World Motorcycle Grand
Prix Championship from Oct 17-19 and the season ending finale would be hosted by
Valencia, Spain, the following weekend.
The event in Sepang, which would also include the final round of the
Malaysian Super Series, revs of with the official free practice on Friday (Oct
17) and official qualifying on Saturday while with the race for all classes is
scheduled for Sunday.
Main Grandstand entry is free on Friday during the free practice while
tickets for Saturday and Sunday are priced at RM80 for the Main Grandstand and
RM30 for the K1 Grandstand. Paddock passes at the VIP Hospitality Village are
priced at RM2,000 (inclusive of food and beverage).
"Ticket sales have been very encouraging. We have sold out all limited
edition packages with the exclusive MotoGP T-shirts and caps. So, what is
available now is just normal tickets," said Ismadi.
