Talabani: today’s bombings resulted from security gaps caused by slow implementation of agreements

Baghdad (NINA) – President Jalal Talabani denounced the bombings of today in a number of provinces and called on the political blocs to “neglect the disputes and disagreements and to immediately find joint points and work together to counter the terrorists and cut the road on the sedition instigators.”

In a presidential statement addressing the Iraqi people, Talabani said “this criminal and cowardly operation which was committed in the holy month of Ramadan aim at terrifying the people and prevent the security stability, this operation is schemed and implemented by the forces that want to impede the political process and economic projects and to arouse civil disputes.”

He added “we flagrantly denounce these crimes and stress that they took place due to security gaps that resulted from the slow implementation of the agreements reached by the political leaderships in the meetings that we asked for and which stressed the necessity of implementing Erbil agreement.” /End/
