Shahbandar rebuffs Sa’idi’s statements about Shahristani

Baghdad (NINA) – MP from the State of Law Coalition, Izzat Al Shahbandar, rebuffed Sabah Al Sa’idi’s statement about the Deputy Premier for Energy Affairs and that he allowed the ministry of electricity to contract with the fake companies.

In a press conference today, Shahbandar said “when Shahristani allowed contracting with these two companies and described them as solid firms, he was counting on information he received, but, he changed his opinion after other information that came to him a week later and he stopped contracting with these firms.”

Shahbandar wondered “what is Shahristani’s crime to be defamed like that?”

Independent MP Sabah Al Sa’idi accused the PM Nouri Al Maliki and Minister of Electricity Raad Shalal of making a deal between both of them.

In a press conference today, Sa’idi said “both sides made a deal in which Maliki would clear Shalal’s side and announce him innocent and accept his resignation instead of sacking him, in exchange for Shalal’s not exposing the involved officials in the electricity contracts corruption.” /End/
