HH the Emir Chairs Meeting of Supreme Council for Economic Affairs and Investment
Doha, August 14 (QNA) - HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani presided over the Supreme Council for Economic Affairs and Investment's third meeting of 2011, which was held today at Al Wajbah Palace.
The meeting was attended by HE Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani, who is also the Executive Member of the Council.
HE Minister of Economy and Finance and the Council's Secretary-General Yousef Hussain Kamal, in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), said that the Council discussed the topics on its agenda and took appropriate decisions.
He pointed out that the Council heard two presentations on the development of financial services in Qatar, and plans of Qatar Petroleum to develop gas, oil and exploration, as well as a study on the development of asset management and insurance in Qatar.
HE the Minister said that HH the Emir instructed that commitment to the timetable for the implementation of these plans must be honored, in addition to the submission of regular reports on their implementation.
He added that the Council approved during the meeting the decisions of the board of Enterprise Qatar with regards to setting up companies for the development of small and medium enterprises and for the management of economic zones.
