MP: we hope Allawi’s visit to Kuwait serves Iraq’s interest
Baghdad (NINA) – Parliamentary source demanded knowing the reasons behind Dr. Iyad Allawi’s visit to Kuwait yesterday.
In a statement to NINA, the source said today “Allawi’s visit coincides with the Iraqi Technical Committee’s visit which was decided to study the damages that will be incurred by the Iraqi ports due to the building of port Mubarak.”
He added that “Allawi’s visit to Kuwait which comes in contradiction to the parliament current orientations to force Kuwait to stop building the port Mubarak, yet, we still hope that Allawi would put the Iraqi people’s interests above all other considerations and regardless of his ties with the Kuwaitis.”
Dr. Iyad Allawi, head of the Iraqiya Slate, headed to Kuwait yesterday on an unannounced visit. /End/
