Yingluck convenes with economic advisors

BANGKOK, August 12 (TNA) - Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Friday convened with her economic team at Pheu Thai Party headquarters to work on policy issues.
Speaking to reporters before the meeting, Yingluck said with confidence that her government would be able to deliver its policy statement to the parliament by August 24.
Yingluck also reaffirmed that her government would raise the country’s minimum daily wage to 300 baht a day as stated during her election campaign. She noted the monthly salaries of undergraduates would also be raised to 15,000 baht.
According to Yingluck, a draft policy on the wage hike would be forwarded to the cabinet session next week, under the arrangement of Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Yongyuth Wichaidit, Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Kittirat Na-Ranong, and the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Board.
